we have a wonderful tulip festival celebrate the

beautiful tulips. The Tulip Festival all started when

the dutch government and royal family donated over

100,000 tulips to Canada to thank Canadians for helping

them during world war 2. During the Tulip Festival people

look at the tulips and there is also a cultural show.

I think cell phones are both helpful and distracting. Cellphones are helpful in case you are stuck somewhere and you can use it to call somebody. Cellphones are distracting because while someone is driving people start talking on there phones and they get caught up in talking and that is when they start driving slower.

After high school i would like to go to university and just get school over with then i would travel for a couple of months then i would start working at my new dentist office.

Yes immigrants to Canada can still keep their culture and language because here in Canada we are called "the mixed salad" which means we are encouraged to keep our culture.

Summary Article (Real friends & Wanting to be rich)

Real friends is an article which tells you about sometimes people who act like your friend can be person who hurts you the most. For example in this book it talks about a girl named Darlene who is starting middle school at a new school where she has no friends, until she went on the bus and met a nice guy named Jared. At lunch while sitting with Jared a girl named Bianca came over and toiled Darlene that she knew her older brother Darrell, and Bianca toiled Darlene to hang out with them and left Jared alone at the table. After Bianca spending so much at Darlene's Bianca talked to her friend Rosa and toiled her I've been going to Darlene's house every day and Darrell hasn't asked me to the dance yet, while they were talking Darlene overheard them and toiled her brother what had happened. The next day Darrell toiled Bianca he was going to ask her to the dance but after what she did to his sister that she could just forget about it.

Wanting to be rich is an article which talks about how there is a new kid in Lincoln middle school named Rich King which is a rich boy with gold rings and silver necklaces. When Damon and his friends first saw Rich they wanted to be him, they also thought that he was those stuck up rich kids but he was nothing like that in fact he was a nice and friendly young man. Damon went up to Rich and started talking to him and found out that Rich liked to play basketball and also had the shoes he wanted. Later that day Rich went over to Damon's house for dinner and to meet Damon's five brothers and sisters. At the end of the story Rich joins Lincoln middle schools basketball team and leads them to victory.

Five websites that I use are www.google.com because you can find information about work that your doing and it can even help you find people on it as well. www.msn.com because you can check your e-mail and people from other countries can send each other pictures. www.about.com is good because I live to cook and it shows you how to bake good cakes and other deserts. www.facebook.com is also a good website because you can talk with your friends on it when you need to tell them something in case you do not have there phone number. www.youtube.com is a good website because you can find videos about all kinds of stuff like how to do your hair of now to make stuff like food.

About Myself

My name is Maritza Torres-Bello I am fourteen years old, I was born in Ottawa on November 22,1993 . My backgrounds are Peru from my mothers side and El Salvador from my fathers side. I live with my mother Gloria, my father German, my sister Judy, and my cat kitty. My features are black and brown long hair, and dark brown eyes.


My plans for this summer are to go shopping and go to the movies with my friends, babysit my cousins from July 1- 15. On July 16 I will be travelling to Peru for my aunts wedding, so I'm really excited for that. I'll be back in Canada on August 16. On August 20 i will be going to Toronto and stay for one week to visit my cousins and go to Niagara falls and Wonderland. On the last two weeks of summer i will be going to Montreal and go see the malls and try new food. In the next five years I will be studying to become a dentist in Carlton University, and when i finish university I will open a dentist office with my uncle who is already a dentist. I will also be open a restaurant because I love to cook.

1 million dollars

If I had 1 million dollars to change Notre Dame High School I would change the cafeteria and make it bigger have better food and make the seats more comfortable. The next thing i would change is to have an indoor swimming pool indoor, tennis court , outdoor soccer Field, out door football Field and have an indoor basketball court. I would also like to get a bigger and better changing room for both girls and boys I would also like comfortable desks for class rooms and better gym equipment and the last thing i would do is to give free year books with the rest of the money.

Letter to Shane

Dear Shane Morgan:

I just wanted to say hi and give you some advice for the future. For the future instead of fighting with your father talk to him instead of running away when ever you have a problem, face them because whenever you face problems of mistakes that you have done you can learn from them and know that it was wrong for what ever you have done. And most importantly never leave your father when he needs you the most no matter if you are mad at him or not.

This is a letter from the school board advising you to donate money to the ESL class for future trips, also money for equipments.

The ESL class needs money for filled trips so that students who just came to Canada learn about our culture. ESL also needs money to buy cultural equipment like the students national flags so that everyone can experience each others country.

Summer trip

For a summer trip i would like to go to France with my friends. We could go shopping, site seeing, eat, and also go to museums. I would also like to go to Miami with my friends because its very hot over there so we can go swimming at the beaches. I would like to go to Peru with my family because i haven't been there since i was four, so i really want to go to see my family and go visit all the sites like Machu Picchu. I would also like to go to El Salvador with my family because my mother, my sister and i have never been to El Salvador before, so i would really want to go and see my family i never met before.

Book review (Cowboy's Don't Cry)

Over all the book was great because it teaches all kids and adults that it's good to show your feelings instead of holding them inside yourself, also when you show your feelings you find the real you inside and not the sad or angry person people turn you out to be. I think this book is good for every age because it teaches you alot about life.

Cowboy's Don't Cry

The teenage years can be a difficult and challenging time for many adolescents. In the novel Cowboy's don't cry, the main character Shane faces many conflicts and problems that he overcomes. Shane deals with many conflicts such as character versus character, character versus nature and character versus self. Through examining these problems with Shane the reader can see how the main character matures to become a great young man who loves his father. In addition has nice friends such as Bart Willard and Casey Sutherland. He changes from a boy doesn't know how to express his feeling, to become more mature.

First of all, Shane faced character versus character conflicts in the novel. The first conflict he has is with his father for so many reasons. The first reason is that Josh is an alcoholic, he is never there when Shane needs him. Also when Josh runs away three times. Quotation example (p.34) "My father is never around when i need him". (Cowboy's don't cry) Another problem Shane has is with Cheryl because when they were at the dance it looked like Cheryl liked Shane, when really she was using him to get Bart jealous.

Secondly, Shane has many conflicts versus nature, living on a ranch and dealing with animals. The main conflict he has is with his mother's horse Angel. Shane had problems with Angel because he learned that it's hard to take care of horses and a ranch. Its hard to take care of Angel because one day Angel got caught on a fence and Shane didn't know what to do. Casey's mom who is a vet came to the Morgans and helped Angel. How ever when Josh found out what had happened to his wife's horse he said Quotation example (p.44)"I sholud've known better than to trust you with her horse". (Cowboy's don't cry) This causes more conflict between Shane and Josh. However, this finally resolved at the end of the novel when josh gives Shane Angel back and said "And I guess I'm finally healed up enough to know that there's nothin' your mom would have liked than for you to have her horse".

Thirdly, Shane has many conflicts with himself. The conflicts he has are about expressing his feelings when his mother dies, Shane wants to cry but remembers what his mother toiled him. She said "Cowboy's don't cry" which means don't cry over little things, as a result to that saying maybe Shane thought he couldn't show his feelings even over big things like the death of his mother. Another example of this is when he is upset and and didn't want to talk to Casey because he doesn't want to show his emotions. Quotation example (p.3) "Cowboy's don't cry".(Cowboy's don't cry)

In conclusion Shane is able to become friends with Bart Willard, also realizes that hen and his father are alike because when ever they have problems they both run away, but Shane learns that it feels good expressing his feelings whereas Josh yet has to learn how to express his feelings. On the other hand Shane is greatful to the Sutherland's for everything they've done for him. He is happy living with his dad and Angel on the ranch.

News paper (Ecuador & Venezuela vs. Colombia)

Ecuador and Venezuela sent troops to their borders with Colombia on Sunday after the booming hit Colombian rebels inside Ecuador during the attack. Colombian minister Fernado Aravjo said "May god spare us war." Venezuela minister said "We will support Ecuador to the end." So as you can see Venezuela and Ecuador are together to fight Colombia.

Web sites are used for many different purposes today. Facebook, youtube, and google are essential to help many students with work and to have fun doing work.


First of all Facebook is a good web site that is used for many things for example it has groups, photos and friends. Groups are good because there are so many groups to choose from, there are groups for remembering people who past away, there are also groups for helping people with cancer and such , and there are also groups were you can sign petitions. Students find this good because lots of students like to help others and they might decide that that's what they want to do when there older and the groups can help the students with that. Students can also ask other students for homework they misted.

Second of all Youtube is a good web site because students can watch useful videos that they can use for work. Teachers can also find this useful to show videos of the subject or project teachers are teaching there students for example in science class when teachers are teaching students about cells students rather watch a video then reading about cells.

Third of all Google is a great web site because students can find many interesting stuff for homework, assignments, and projects students need for class. For example say a student is doing a project they can find pictures and all the information students need to complete there project. Teachers can also use google to find pictures of the lesson that they are teaching the students.

In conclusion students and teachers think web sites like facebook, youtube, and google and other useful web sites are great for teaching and helping with work, projects and other stuff most of the teachers and students always use web site for most of the thing they do and usually the web sites are useful.

My article (latin fest)

On August, 19 2007 in Wonderland was Latin fest. There was lots of food from all Spanish country's like Peru, El Salvador, Mexico and other latin food. There were also beautiful bags and bracelets with a Spanish country name printed on them in all sorts colours and designs for the cost of $5.00 to $10.00 each. Wonderland had Latin fest so Hispanics and Canadians can experience how the food taste and how there country's are unique in there on way.

How to bake a cake.

First for the dry ingredients you will need flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, sugar and butter mix well. For wet ingredients you will need milk, eggs, and vanilla extract mix well. After mixing dry and wet ingredients combine both ingredients and mix together. Then when done mixing butter and flour pan and put batter in the pan, cook for 20 minutes,then let cake sit for 2 minutes and serve.

ESL trip.

I think for the ESL class spring trip we should go to a carnival because we can play fun games and go on rides and stuff, or we can go on a boat because the water is nice at spring. We can raise the money by bake sales, selling popcorn, selling cotton candy and other sweets.
